Description
The same scraping fiber as a printed mat, without a word on it. Plain coir belongs where a greeting would be noise: a side door, a studio, a back porch. The pile is undyed coconut husk. A rubber backing keeps it from walking across the threshold. It sheds a little fiber at first. That settles.
Materials & details
- Undyed coconut coir
- Vulcanized rubber backing
- Sizes in inches: 18×30, 24×36, and 30×48.
- No print and no border.
- Use outside under cover, or inside at the door.
- Coir is naturally coarse. It will scratch a delicate floor finish if you drag it. Lift it.
Care
- Shake briskly. Coir holds sand until you do.
- Rinse with a hose and dry upright.
- Do not machine wash or dry clean.
- If the backing cracks after years of weather, retire the mat. Do not glue it back down.
